A couple months ago, during one of my casual browsings of moodfabrics.com, I spotted these two poly prints designed especially for Mood and of course I had to have them.
The first print is very rich and picturesque so the only design element that I added to a very simple top that I wanted to make with it was bell sleeves :) Here's the finished top and some close ups of the print. If you know Mood, you'll recognize many of the store's elements, including the iconic Mood shopping bag, and, of course, Swatch, the adorable Mood mascot Boston terrier! :) He's the real star of Project Runway :)
Also, every time I place an order online, they throw in these adorable labels :) So I finally put a couple of them to good use!
The second print design is extremely light and delicate so a decided to add a grey lace peter pan collar with a velvet edge to it. The lace is from Pacific Fabrics and the velvet piping is from Nancy's.
I'm extremely happy with how both of these turned out. They are pretty transparent, so I lined them with very fine white pure silk lining.
And finally this last top is something I just had to whip up after I spotted this adorable poodle print at JoAnne's :) The fabric has a feel of chiffon, but the black poodles and dots are sort of velvety - this adds very cool texture.
