Exposed Zipper

I found this great little tutorial for doing the exposed zipper: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8qRzjoTXWQwhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8qRzjoTXWQw and tonight I tried it. So far I only did a sample. Here are some things that I found:

1. no need to use interfacing
2. make the seam below the zipper at 3/4 of an inch wide (10 little marks actually)
3. place the zipper so that its top edge matches the neck edge of the garment (or sample)
4. end (or rather start) the seam below the zipper right where the zipper ends (its metal end)
5. don't tuck in the bottom edges of the zipper. Leave them as they are, completely exposed.
6. at first, when you attach the zipper only to the folded edge, sew as close to the zipper teeth as you can
7. when you attach the zipper to the actual garment, sew as close to the zipper edge as possible

Anyway, here's what I was able to do so far tonight. Tomorrow I'll actually put this on a top in the back.
