Funky Jersey Dress

When I saw this super expensive ($50 a yard) Italian wool jersey at Nancy's Sewing Basket in Queen Anne, I knew I had to have it. So I splurged on a yard and cut the front and the back. Originally I was going to combine it with some brown ponte for the sleeves. But mom convinced me not to over think it. So yesterday I drove back to the shop, got another 1/2 yard and voila!

I chose the simplest possible shape - basic t-shirt dress, because the print itself is so cool and unusual and vibrant, any design would work against it. Maybe next time when I make this silhouette out of jersey, I'll add a long exposed zipper in the back.

Anyway, I finished the dress an hour ago and we just took these pictures. I chose to accessorized it with a long sparkly Anthro necklace.

Must say, very nice to have a personal photographer - my mom :)

Btw, my dress form's name is Diane.
